OUR FARM

Oaklane Orchards has been growing high quality, farm fresh apples, pears, and plums since 1973.  In 2018, the Fox and Close families bought the orchard and expanded the acreage from 50 to 130 acres by merging with an adjacent farm.  We have since added 6,200 new trees bringing the farms total to approximately 45,000 trees!

Damson Plums

Gone for the season!
Damson plums are small, round and dark purple with intense colour and flavour. Damon's tartness and spiciness are ideal for making jams, jellies and preserves.

Mount Royal Plums

Gone for the season!
Mount Royal Plum is a  blue round fruit with purple overtones and gold flesh.  Mount Royal plums have a sweet taste and a juicy texture and can be used for eating, baking, preserves, or canning.

Italian Plum

Italian plums are a sweet, oblong fruit and are known for their sweet flavour that becomes deeper with baking. You can eat them fresh and plain, but they are best used for baking.  The firm skin helps them hold up well when baked, and the sweet flavour deepens and becomes more complex when exposed to heat.

German Prune

German Prunes are great for fresh eating and due to their drier than average nature, are great for baking into traditional German plum desserts.

Bartlett Pears

Bartletts are extremely aromatic pears, and have a definitive pear flavour.  Bartletts are much more than just a canning pear, and besides eating them fresh, you can also enjoy their wonderful flavor and smooth texture on a  garden salad or serve with cheese.
